Radio frequency (RF) is a form of electromagnetic energy. When applied to tissue,
it produces electromagnetic fields that cause molecules in the tissue to oscillate, generating heat.
Thermal effects take place in the tissue between these electrodes. Since bipolar energy is more localized, less energy is needed to achieve the temperature rise.
The CELLU System® uses bipolar radiofrequency. Bipolar RF is generated using two electrodes in contact with the treatment area.
